Our family has made a committment to make sure that missions is a part of our home. One of our favorite mission ministries to participate with is Operation Christmas Child. Each year, we work hard to collect items for our shoe box gifts. We have a designated closet in our home that we put these items in as we collect them. Then in November, we start packing our boxes. This year, our children packed boxes to bring to church for our shoe box dedication sunday and they also packed boxes for their preschool dedication.
Here is a picture of Mrs. Nancy, one of our preschool teachers and a few of the children, including 3 of ours, who gave shoe box gifts for Jesus to provide to children in other countries that need His love and tangible gifts. It is precious and brings joy to my heart to see my kids and their friends already participating in missions at such a young age. As I look at this picture of them in our fellowship hall giving their boxes, I am reminded of the call to the great commission of our Lord.
