My Little Cheerleaders

This is a picture of our girls as they cheer on the other teams after their performance.  I am so proud of their hard work and effort.  They are awesome and wonderful cheerleaders that make their daddy so proud.

Operation Christmas Child

Since 1993, Christians from all over America and now in other parts of the world have collected shoe boxes filled with gifts for children in dark, lost and foreign lands so that the missionaries there could give a tangible gift as they share the great news of JESUS with the children.  Since that time 77 million shoe boxes from Operation Christmas Child have been delivered.

This past Sunday, our church had our annual collection with a goal of 400.  So far, we have collected 432 shoe boxes.  WOW, GO GOD.  As the shoe boxes filled the alter at Southside, my heart just melted with joy thinking about the many sacrifices that so many of our people at Southside made to provide an open door for children in other countires to hear about JESUS.

Please join me in praying for the boxes to go to the right child that needs each specific gift.  Also, if you have not yet filled a box, please do so this week.  This is National Collection Week and you can drop off your boxes around the country at many drop off locations.  If you are in the Triad of NC, our church is a drop off location.  We will be collecting boxes from 9-4 each day for the rest of the week and from 1-4 on Sunday.  On Monday, some of our awesome deacons will be loading the boxes to go to the processing plant where we will be going on December 9 for a mission trip to do our part as a church to help process the 12 million gifts that are expected to be received.

May God bless each one who participates in Operation Christmas Child this year.
