Vacation Bible School 2010 @ Southside Baptist Church

Anyone that knows me very well knows that my favorite week of the year is the week of Vacation Bible School.  This year, our VBS theme has been Saddle Ridge Ranch.  We have been on a journey of asking questions that help us learn how to live for Christ.  We started VBS on Monday night.  We had an amazing crowd of preschoolers, children, youth and adults who came with a desire to learn and grow in their walk with God.  The excitement and enthusiasm has continued as the week has continued.  Tonight will be our final night of VBS and it will be bittersweet for me.  I know that all good things must come to an end, but it is hard to see such a mighty movement of God close.  I am thankful for our average attendance so far of 532.  I am thankful for the 6 decisions made for Jesus on Wednesday night.  I am thankful for the 13 decisions made for Christ Thursday night.  Most of all, I am thankful for the annointing of the Holy Spirit that has most certainly showed up this week.

As I have spent time reflecting on the week so far, I am amazed and blessed by our church family.  So many of our dear people have made sacrifices to make this week possible.  On behalf of the children in our community, I humbly say "THANK YOU."

The Southern Baptist Convention 2010

Last week, Laura and I had the opportunity to attend the Southern Baptist Convention.  We were blessed by wonderful messages, amazing music and the opportunity to hear great and inspiring reports about the work of God that is going on with Southern Baptists.  I can say without any hesitation that I am proud to be a Southern Baptist.  It is wonderful to know that God is moving in a mighty way in our midst.

As we were at the convention, we were also blessed by the opportunity to help celebrate the 20 year anniversary of Dr. Kinchen, the beloved college president of BCF.  It was great to see him and celebrate the milestone of his ministry with some of our dear friends.

We were also blessed by the opportunity to see and fellowship with so many of our dear friends from college and seminary.  It is wonderful and refreshing to see how God is using so many people that are near and dear to our hearts for His glory.  Thank you Jesus for blessing us with people and friends who love you and serve you with a faithful heart.

Tonight before Luke's playoff game, we were invited to a graduation party in the fellowship hall at church for two of our fine young ladies at Southside.  When we arrived, Luke noticed that Jason was there.  Jason is one of our college students that is so special to us.  He has surrendered his life to full time missions. As soon as Luke saw him, he immediately enjoyed the rest of his time at the party with him.  We are so grateful for the amazing example that Jason is to Luke and all the other kids in our church.

Paul is enjoying his Brewster's Ice Cream

One of Paul's favorite desserts is ice cream.  Although he likes ice cream, he is very picky about what type he eats.  A sweet lady in our church knows that Paul's favorite ice cream is Brewster's.  She always enjoys joking with him about it because it is her favorite too.  Last week, she gave us a gift card for Paul to get "their favorite" ice cream.  Here is the result of her very generous gift.  Paul is indulging and enjoying his ice cream cone.  He is also enjoying the leftovers on his face.

Just so you know, mommy has sprayed his shirt 3 times this week with spray in wash and we still have ice cream stains. We will always remember this occasion as our baby Paul expressed his love for Brewster's ice cream.

The Little Fuller's as they enjoy a spring boat ride.

The little Fuller's love water.  Here is a picture of them as they are riding a boat on a sunny spring Saturday afternooon.  They are enjoying the ride as the wind blows just a tad bit of water on them to cool them off.

Luke Fuller - The Bats

Tonight, Luke had a playoff game at 7:45 PM.  This is a picture of him as he prepared to hit the ball.  After this picture was taken, he hit the ball so well that it went far beyond his expectation.  As his dad, I was extremely proud of him tonight.  After tonights game, we found out that we play again tomorrow at 12:00 noon.  We can't wait to see how Luke does tomorrow.
